Acceptance rates tightened significantly this cycle. NYU dropped to 7.7% (from 12.2%) — the steepest single-year decline in our dataset. Emory fell to 11% (from 15%). Duke now at 5.7% (from 7%). UChicago reached 4.5% — more selective than several Ivies. Tufts dropped to 10% (from 11.5%) on a record 36,000 applications. UNC Chapel Hill tightened to 14.6% (from 17.1%).
