Questions

Common questions

How accurate is the college data? +
FitScore™ uses the Common Data Set (CDS) — the standardized data published annually by every accredited US university. This includes acceptance rates, GPA ranges, test score ranges, and the 18 institutional priority factors that power our AFI scoring model. We always recommend verifying directly with each school's admissions office.
What is the FitScore™ — Admissions Fit Index (AFI)? +
FitScore™ is powered by the AFI — FitScore™'s proprietary scoring methodology. It weighs all 18 CDS Section C7 institutional priority factors — including GPA, test scores, essays, extracurriculars, and more — against each school's published importance ratings to calculate a personalized fit score. Your AFI score appears on your results page.
What majors does it cover? +
Any major at any accredited US four-year university — Architecture, Pre-Med, Computer Science, Liberal Arts, Business, Engineering, and everything in between. International students can specify their major and we factor in STEM OPT eligibility and F-1 visa support.
What if I haven't taken the SAT yet? +
No problem. Select "Haven't tested yet / Not applicable" and we focus on GPA, goals, and fit. Many schools are test-optional and we'll flag those for you.
Can I run it more than once? +
Your one-time purchase covers a single personalized list. If you'd like to explore different parameters such as a different major or budget, you're welcome to run it again, though most students find one well-thought-out list is all they need.
Is this a replacement for a college counselor? +
It's a complement. FitScore™ gives you the data foundation — a realistic, AFI-calibrated list — so conversations with counselors and parents can be more focused and productive.
